Considering the rapid changes in technology in various aspects of life, people faces massive amounts of information for survival and struggle in their life. Rapid changes sometimes lead the people to unstable information. In this condition, relying on accumulated knowledge and information from specific period of life, as an official training course, is not sufficient and if the active learning is not adjusted with dynamic living styles, this kind of great and complicated information are not be suitable to be used for further consideration. So formal education system must be replaced with other types of learning systems such as personal or lifelong learning for the entire life cycle, with the concept of learning from cradle to grave. This study uses the questionnaire tool, based on Likert five scale questionnaires, collect statistical information from M.S. and Ph.D. student of Tarbiat Modares University (TMU). Results show that lifelong learning must be considered as a basic concept in learning systems. Also finding shows that lifelong learning is appropriate for today’s need and it’s more pleasurable than other learning systems.

This paper reviews the educational dropout rate in e-learning system and its causes. Literature review indicates that the dropout rate in e-learning is more than traditional learning. This phenomenon is influenced by interaction between cultural, technological and psychological factors. In this case study, the considered variables include: gender, semester and entrance exam average in the Iran University of Science and Technology E-Learning Center. The results of this study indicate that male's dropout rate is statistically more than that of females. Educational dropout rate in the third and fifth semester is higher than other semesters but this result is not statistically significant. Descriptive statistic indicates that entrance exam QPA in persistent student is more than dropped student, but the difference between these averages is not significant.

Nowadays, universities and higher education Institutions need infrastructures for effective contribution in the process of knowledge creation and transfer on the basis of knowledge Management and organizational learning. Knowledge Management is one of the effective tools for creation, transfer, and share of knowledge in a learning university. In this research, views of faculty members at different departments of School of Engineering, Persian Gulf University on the above issues is studied and analyzed with SPSS software. The method is based on a descriptive research, and research questions designed for investigating magnitude of knowledge, information and communication technology infrastructures, culture, and design and development of research engine in the university. Results show and discuss the relative importance of these components in the process of creation, transfer, and share of knowledge in this faculty. Finally the paper presents some suggestions for application of knowledge management approach in technical and engineering colleges.

The subject of effectiveness of engineering education are concerned with the level of applied and scientific education, what problem should be solved by education and how much education should be deployed. Determination of effectiveness of engineering education helps the planners and executives to have a clear perception of education effectiveness for any future progresses. In this paper the concept of evaluating effectiveness of engineering education and measuring effectiveness method has been explained and a four dimensional operational model including: trainee reaction, learning, improvement of job performance and achievement of organizational goals has been explained. With such studies it is found that the effectiveness of technical-skill and engineering education through implementing the mentioned model increases from 86.5% to 88.18%.
