In Iran learning is a merit, while today education is an investment. This fundamental difference has been reflected in methods and contents of the education disciplines. Different aspects of engineering education such as the length of the courses, contents of each course, optional and compulsory courses, grading system, graduate levels, mathematics and the basic physics, research-education sections and the role of universities in creating wealth is discussed in this comparative study. In this paper this comparison is focused on education engineering mechanics in Iranian universities and some elite universities in the UK, Germany and USA. The paper suggests new concepts in education such as student-centered teaching, problem-based learning, and technology- enriched-active learning.A comparative study of education of engineering in Iran and some developed countries reveals a fundamental difference in the philosophy of education. This form of education is not adequate at the current condition of technology. Because an efficient system of education must include all available activities, such as distance learning, virtual learning, and other technological potentials. Nowadays the rapid growth of information technology and communication has provided new opportunities for modern education. For developing and promoting the education system, it is necessary to include the forth element in education system. This will play an important role besides other elements of traditional education system compromised of teacher, student and curriculum. Based on the research carried in this article, by taking into consideration the differences in level of teaching quality and educational services, in the accredited colleges of engineering in Iran and the world, the procedure of upgrading the fourth element of engineering courses teaching-learning system through utilization of information and communication technologies have been investigated and suggested. In traditional instruction system, the three elements including instructor, student, and curriculum are foundations which make the learning a process of interaction of both teachers and students’ during physical presence. After the revolution of 1979, the planning of higher education programs was centralized and the present BSc program of mining engineering was introduced in 1997. This paper presents some deficiencies of the existing program and introduces a revised version, which is designed based on the national needs and international trends. In this program, a new "BSc exploration engineering" is introduced. In the fourth year of this program, students can choose one of the clusters of courses in mining exploration, petroleum exploration, groundwater exploration or geo-hazards investigation. Along with the growth in the number of universities which offer landscape architecture program, the qualitative review of program contents has been increasing. Requisite knowledge & skills for landscape architects have an essential role in reviewing of educational program. This paper intends to analyze the training & educational text about landscape architecture, experiments of universities and employment demands. The outcome of these studies is a knowledge-based framework for landscape architects. In this framework the most important knowledge and requisite skills which landscape architects need them, are represent. Findings of this paper explain that we can shape the above framework according to the procedural and natural dimensions of landscape architecture. Landscape architecture encompasses the holistic humanistic-environmental approach of landscape architecture as a natural dimension and economic, social, technological, administrative and communicational items as procedural dimensions. This framework could be implemented in Iranian universities. There is an increasing interest in establishing new degrees of landscape architecture in all over the world. In this article all the mechanisms applied in these lamps from design view point have been appraised and discussed. However during the course of this project “a progressing design process” in innovative thinking of Ahmad ibn Musa has been observed. This achievement is the most important outcome of this project which ought to be taught in engineering courses.
