Abstract

The present study was conducted to predict the variables of academic burnout and academic procrastination of engineering students based on the variables of critical thinking and entrepreneurial spirit. The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the study was all undergraduate and engineering students of Tabriz University who were selected as a sample by one-stage cluster sampling method using Morgan table (311 girls and 197 boys). Data were collected using the Ricketts Critical Thinking Questionnaire, Bahramzadeh et al.’s entrepreneurial spirit, Berso et al.’s academic burnout, and riding academic procrastination. Data were analyzed using one-way t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the rate of variables of critical thinking and entrepreneurial spirit is above average and the rate of variables of burnout and academic procrastination is lower than average. Also, the critical thinking variable with beta coefficient (B=-0.20) negatively predicts academic procrastination variable 0.14 and with beta coefficient (B= -0.30) predicts academic burnout variable 0.22 but predicts entrepreneurial spirit is significant. is not. In general, the results showed that the critical thinking variable has a significant role in predicting burnout and academic procrastination of technical and engineering students.
