Abstract

Khavandkar*** ABSTRACT- Value engineering is a systematic and group based method which tries to meet the most valuable function with minimum cost and without ignoring safety, reliability, maintainability, quality, etc. by analyzing product/service functions. While TRIZ method is capable of identifying advantageous and disadvantageous functions and physical elements of a product/service and to propose the most improved alternative function simultaneously by gathering most efficient experiences from innovations and solving complex design and engineering problems. Therefore, their synergy capabilities results in simultaneous application of these methods in solving problems function improvement and increasing value. Settlement of an engineering system is one of the main apprehensions of project managers. In this paper, in addition to introducing powerful and efficient tool, TRIZ, and reviewing drawbacks of value engineering in function analysis FAST diagram and brain storming process, proposes a new functional model UHP-FAST for analyzing function, by investigating synergy possibility of these methods. At last, considering proposed model and applying these models and preposition in traditional work plan of value engineering, we propose a new workplan for value engineering and settlement of an engineering and comprehensive system.
