Restructuring the Electrical Engineering Education in the Country
The Electrical Engineering undergraduate educational program in the country has undergone some kind of stagnation during the past twenty years, and this has caused a mismatch between this education and the up-to-date world’s technology. In addition the existing program does not satisfy the industrial and social needs of the country in this era. This deficiency in the present educational program can lead to educating engineers who have a good knowledge about “Principles and Fundamentals” and are ready to work on theoretical and scientific subjects, while they are not ready to work as an engineer who can respond to the technological challenges of the country and to manage effectively parts of the industrial potential of the country and result in a surplus or improvement in the net national product of the country. To fulfil a thorough investigation on the subject a committee was assigned, in 2004, in the Electrical Engineering Department of Sharif University of Technology to develop a complete restructured undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering, based on the up-to-date and active measures. This paper briefly presents the developed educational program out of this task, which aims to renew and update the structure, and the content of the undergraduate educational program of the Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology.

On Restructuring the Electrical Engineering Higher Education in Iran
In this paper, we provided our critical views on restructuring the Electrical Engineering education at bachelor¬,s level in Iran. We particularly discussed the conclusions and suggestions that are resulted from a study at Sharif University of Technology. Their approach to the problem, main ideas in restructuring, suggested new courses, and new syllabuses for old titles are critically analyzed. The main concerns are as follows: Curriculum planning at national level demands for a large poll of ideas at the same level; the suggested framework seems to be too rigid; there is only a little room for technical electives; the number and content of newly suggested courses does not match the rapid changes in the field; and the content of the newly suggested courses for first two semester are not consistent with students’ knowledge at those levels. We think many of these problems are due to insisting too much on keeping subprograms at bachelor level. Maybe it is time to remove subprograms and rescheduling the bachelor of Electrical Engineering as a three years program, followed by a two years advanced program. A three year program is more consistent with quarter-based system as compared with semester-based system. The former is more consistent with Iranian New Year holidays as well.

Network Based Real-Time Control and Monitoring Using LabVIEW and MATLAB
As nowadays the Internet and computer networks have been recognized as powerful tools for tele-operation and distributed collaborative works, great opportunities have been offered to expand applications of remote control and monitoring methods in various fields. In this paper, a comparison of various methods for data communication in computer networks for control and automation systems and remote monitoring using MATLAB and LabVIEW software is presented. First an introduction to several structures for data transfer is given and then the structures are compared based on quality, speed, security, and so on. Finally, these methods are applied to a typical case study and results are evaluated.

A Study of the National Infrastructure for Science and Research
This paper considers the national infrastructure for science and research affairs. The focus is on research, researcher and its direct or indirect relationship with the scientific movement by the country. Based on this, a pyramidal structure is depicted which clarifies the research system. Research is not viewed as an individualized task, but as a systematic process that involves a wide range of subjects like determination of national strategies, the role of universities, managing solution of a scientific problem and evaluation of the results. This view of the subject illuminates the way that the organizations and individuals should interact during the process of scientific development. Based on this view, some important principles are emphasized for the national scientific planning that can result in a balanced scientific motion and increased motivation and awareness of the individuals. As a solution which is based on these principles, formation of a national virtual center for scientific research interactions is recommended.

ٍٍEvaluating the Trend of Revising Courses in Shiraz University and Presenting the Proposed Revised Bachelor Program in Electrical Engineering
In this paper the trend of revising courses in Shiraz University are evaluated and the proposed revised Bachelor Program in Electrical Engineering for this University are presented. This program has been prepared in the framework of the executive procedure rules left to the universities for revising their educational courses. The main trend in revision is to update the educational courses based on the universal growth of electrical science and technology. This has been performed in a reasonable, organized, controlled and soft manner and without any rush to impose radical changes in the fundamental structure of the programs. The guidelines in this trend are considered as: revising the type of general courses in order to offer new general courses in social, ethical, and environmental subjects; revising the content of basic courses so as to be appropriate for offering to different disciplines at Shiraz University as a major large university; and creating, merging and eliminating fundamental and specialized courses based on the latest immerged technologies in the world. Decisively including novel scientific and technological concepts in the coursework contents and using computer and the internet facilities in presenting the course contents; setting a high value on the labs by revising their hardware and software facilities and the contents of the lab experiments; designing the courses to be project oriented and paying attention to the B.S. Projects and encouraging the students to take part in group projects with specified objectives; paying attention to the training course and appointing supervisors to monitor each group of trainees. With the above objectives the proposed revised educational programs for different sub-areas of Electrical Engineering have been developed and the results are presented at the end of the paper.

Design and Implementation of a Software for Wind Turbine Operation Training in Renewable Energy Systems
In this paper a new e-learning software is introduced. The software can be used (by students) to learn the operation of wind turbines in renewable energy systems. A real Rutland model wind turbine is simulated. Aerodynamic blades, mechanical parts and gearbox, electrical generator and electrical components of the turbine, as well as the controller systems of the turbine are precisely modeled and the results are graphically presented. The structure of the developed software design is not restricted to one type of wind turbine and can be developed for different types and brands of wind turbines. The wind speed can be applied using a prerecorded wind speed data or virtually generated data by statistical wind speed models. The real wind speed data can also be applied to the software, making it an online training environment. The output reports of the developed software in this paper are time plots and graphs as well as computer animations. Also a user friendly interface is provided for the software. The user can make any variations in the parameters of the wind turbine and the wind speed pattern and can examine the results.

Analysis of RFID in IT Development, Training and Challenges
In recent years, with appearance of new sciences and concepts in the world and the importance of work creativity, the concepts of innovation and creativity in engineering and its training is inevitable. Identifying and realization of people, objects and goods are the cases that are daily applicable in whole of the world. Human are interested to make the identifying and realization of people and objects easier than before to separate the people and objects physical identity. So one of the great changes in IT field is its identification and automatic perception that rapidly have come to be an effective and suitable technical in industries. All the clear-sighted people and experts and active people in IT in the world consider it as the greatest event after the innovation of Internet. Identifying upon radiation freakiness is a set of technical ways which identify with the help of radiation waves and is applicable in industries and its application in different important industries is being emphasized. In this article, while introducing the different automatic ways of identification from past to present, we show a clear idea of this technology (Radio Frequency Identification) and also show the advantages and disadvantages and the analysis of this art. We consider different scientific searches in this field and classify them to offer a complete source for researchers, universities and industrialists for training. With the above discussion, the main goal of this research is training, creativity and improving knowledge in this field.
