چکیده
در ایالات متحده آمریکا دو نوع اعتبارسنجی برنامه‌های آموزشی وجود دارد: منطقه‌ای و تخصصی. اعتبارسنجی منطقه‌ای، از طریق شش انجمن علمی انجام می‌شود. این انجمن‌ها از دانشگاه‌ها و دانشکده‌هایی که در هر یک از این شش منطقه جغرافیایی کشور (جنوب، شمال مرکزی، آتلانتیک میانی، نیوانگلند، غرب و شمال غربی) قرار دارند، تشکیل شده‌اند. اعتبارسنجی تخصصی، با توجه به نیاز سازمان‌های حرفه‌ای، برای حصول اطمینان از کیفیت آموزش عرضه‌شده به کسانی که در حوزه‌های تخصصی به کار مشغول می‌شوند، نهادینه شده است. امروزه، بیش از هفتاد رشته تخصصی در حوزه آموزش عالی، مانند حقوق، پزشکی و مهندسی، در معرض انجام اعتبارسنجی‌های تخصصی قرار دارند. در اجرای این اعتبارسنجی‌ها، برخی از سازمان‌های ملی و هزاران نفر، به طور مستقیم یا غیرمستقیم مشارکت دارند. این مقاله به بررسی استانداردها و فرایند اعتبارسنجی آموزش مهندسی ساختمان در ایالات متحده آمریکا می‌پردازد.

In the United States of America (USA), there are two types of educational accreditation, regional and specialized. The former is practiced through associations of colleges and universities within defined geographical areas of the country (South, North Central, Middle Atlantic, New England, West and Northwest). Specialized accreditation grew out of a desire on the part of professional bodies to ensure the quality of education given to practitioners. Today, more than seventy fields in post-secondary education such as law, medicine, and engineering are subject to specialized accreditation conducted through the direct or indirect involvement of several national organizations and thousands of individuals. This paper reviews the standards and process for accreditation of construction education programs in the USA.
