Abstract
Any society is composed of different groups. Among them engineers are recognized as one of the most eminent sectors that play an effective role in the industrial development of the society. Regarding the positions of the engineers in each country, it seems necessary for them to take no consideration the present facts and limitations such as cultural, economical, religious, environmental and even political problems in any industrial designs and technology development. In this paper the characteristics of an engineer working in industry, with respect to the existing conditions is studied. The optinions of a number of Iranian Engineering workng in industry about the present educational program at engineering schools is evaluated. Emphasis is made on the lacks of the social, management and economic courses. Finally, regarding the optained experiences in the development countries, some new suggestions are proposed to revising the engineering education programs, such that the graduated students have more information about national and international activites, programs an sustainable development.
