Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of skill-based training courses in the industry sector according to Kirk Patrick model. Considered indexes in this evaluation were: rate of usage competencies, level of mastering in competencies, time needed to learn competencies, level of access to behavior objectives, rate of problem solving, rate of conformity between procedure and realities and effect rate of provided procedure to improve performance. This study was a type of descriptive - applying research. Considered statistical population was 295 engineers in regional electricity company of Yazd. In terms of multi stage sampling method 90 people as a sample were selected. Tools of data collection were: note making, questionnaire and interview. SPSS15 software was used to analyze of data. Results showed that the most important reasons for non-effective of most skill-based trainings in the industry sector is inappropriate time of learning and also not compliance with work trainings. Since the basis of designing and implementing skill-based training courses needs assessment, so unfortunately one can conclude that most industrial sectors do not follow such programs.
