The overall goal of this is was to measure internal and external effectiveness of GIS training for local departments in the field of agriculture, construction and geology inShiraz,Iran. Statistical research community includes randomly-selected organizations whose experts have passed GIS Course. The Research tool is a researcher-made questionnaire to measure the effectiveness of course content outline and the quality of internal performance plans to assess external effectiveness of work. The Results indicate that the effectiveness measures of GIS training are not significantly different in terms of gender, educational background, work experience and job careers, while there is a significant difference between employee groups of agriculture and engineering in the terms of “Technical Use”.
