Process simulators are the tools enabling chemical engineers to simulate the chemical processes at various levels. These could be easily adapted to the simulation of large scale projects in chemical, oil, gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper and pharmaceutical industries. By building the proper physical model of a chemical process or unit operation, it would be possible to adapt the process simulators to solve the corresponding model. Such a sophisticated physical model my enhance the abilities of engineers and practitioners to fully predict the overall and detailed performance of the process. Today, a number of commercial software, i.e. ASPEN PLUS, HYSYS, PRO II and CHEMCAD are being used in chemical engineering and they should be integrated to the chemical engineering education. In this paper, this important issue is discussed to some extent and an outline is proposed in order to use these tools in chemical engineering.
