Assessments of telecommunication students based on employment standards of engineering project management of shiraz electronic industries

Abstract
 The goal of this research is to evaluate the practical competencies of electronic engineering students of Shiraz University based on employment standards of engineering project management in Shiraz Electronic Industries. The population of study includes the third and fourth year students of electronic engineering with telecommunications area of undergraduate at Shiraz University. These students are involved in technology and project management experts of Shiraz Electronic Industries. Two classes of the third and fourth year students from electronic engineering and 40 experts from electronics industries were selected as cluster and available sampling methods. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire which was given to industries engineering project management experts and students based on skill set required in the electronic engineering job description. Results showed: 1- There is a significant difference between a practical competency of electronic engineering students at telecommunications area and employment standards of engineering project management of electronics industries. 2- There is not a significant differences between the needs of male and female students and practical competency of engineering project management and 3- Except the needs to understand the principles of engineering, there was no significant differences between the needs of students with different average academic to other dimensions of practical competency of engineering project management.
