The last educational program of mechanical engineering in Iran has been provided by High Council of Educational Planning of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology a long time ago. Considering the fast development in science and technology during the last decade in the world of science, it seems that a revision in this program is indispensable in Iran more than before. In this paper, the situation of mechanical engineering education in Iran has been described and also compared and analyzed with the most well-known universities in other countries. These investigations show that there is no significant structural difference between the Iranian program and other selected universities. But it seems that some diversity exist in the presentation of concepts and performance of the courses. Although in the present paper, the necessary improvement in concept and program to be change in mechanical engineering program has been argued, but this subject needs to be investigated more.
